An environmental regeneration strategy was developed for the former Ogmore Vale Washery site. The proposals are aimed at creating an exemplar multi-functional landscape which demonstrates the benefits that local Green Infrastructure can provide. The Council wished to build upon the existing qualities of the site, particularly natural and cultural heritage, while also lessening perceptions of a derelict and neglected area.
A Phase 1 habitat survey was carried out and FCA worked with the local community to develop a strategy for the site. The feasibility study includes phased proposals with sketch plans and estimated costs, to assist the Community Council in seeking funding for future work. Options for income regeneration are included with recommendations for ongoing consultation and management.
